There's a new junkie on the block! After nearly a decade of honing his needles in the armpits of SOMA & the bowels of the Tenderloin, San Francisco's premiere rare-disco revivalist & most incorrigible vinyl addict DJ BUS STATION JOHN continues the downward spiral of his career as he takes on the gutters of The Big Apple for the first-time-ever with "DISCO DADDY!," a 10-hour old-school marathon tea dance SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18th @ The Delancey. Celebratiing the late-70s/early-80s soundtrack of dance music's bathhouse-era, pre-digital glory days, "DISCO DADDY!" will supply a non-stop dance floor fix for fans of "lost" disco, rare boogie, & R&B/funk, with classic beats & tasty treats from San Francisco's famed cha-cha palace Trocadero Transfer to NYC's legendary Paradise Garage & and beyond.... Take a brake from the underground disco in the KAMP QWEEN LOUNGE hosted by the legendary MOTHER FLAWLESS SABRINA (Star of the cult documentary "The Queen") with music by DJ CUBSICLE and visuals by San Francisco's VIS-A-VIS.

Since 2000, DJ BUS STATION JOHN has specialized in rescuing from oblivion incredible early dance music that might otherwise be lost to time, channeling the essence of the pre-AIDS "Golden Age of Gay" as he takes older gay men on a trip down memory lane while turning a new generation of queer ears onto fantastic gems they've never heard before. His nightlife endeavours---including the popular & long-running TUBESTEAK CONNECTION (now in its sixth year @ Aunt Charlie's Lounge),THE ROD, DOUBLE DUTCH DISCO, MANQUAKE!, TRASH, and his latest creation, LE PERLE DEGLI SQUALLOR---have brought together cock-gobblers, self-suckers, carpet-grinders, rug-munchers and crotch-stuffers of every generation, stripe & color. A pioneer in San Francisco's alterna-queer club renaissance, he has managed to keep an underground edge in an internet age, preferring word-of-mouth and b&w xeroxed flyers over social-networking sites. BSJ steadfastly avoids including played-out Top-40/wedding reception disco in his sets, so new recruits are advised to expect the unexpected. "There are literally hundreds of amazing songs---both beautiful and bizarre, born from the creative imaginations of some very talented people---many of which never reached the charts. They're just waiting to be brought back to life."

A NOTE FROM BSJ: "My parties are about living in the moment, connecting with the people around you, and celebrating old-school music the old-school way. We didn't have phone booths on the dance floor or teletype machines in the bars back-in-the-day, Miss-ter Thing---so be prepared to dis-connect from your hand-held electronic device/s for the night!"
